BKMEA and Fair Wear will continue collaboration on the implementation of Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) and Responsible purchasing practices for ensuring sustainable development of Bangladesh’s RMG industry.

In this regard, a discussion meeting was held today (22 September) at BKMEA Dhaka office between the two organizations.

The meeting was attended by BKMEA Vice President Mohammad Rashed, Director Minhazul Hoque (virtually), Fair Wear’s Strategic Lead & Project Management Advisor Femke Blickman, Country Manager Babulur Rahman, Program Coordinator Ashfike Khalaque, Lead Trainer & Legal Consultant Nahida Anjum, Grievance Handler & Project Assistant Sara Kifayat, along with senior officials of BKMEA.

During the discussion, the issue of Human Rights Due Diligence (HREDD) compliance received significant attention. Fair Wear also sought BKMEA’s support in identifying areas of collaboration to further improvement of the country’s RMG sector.

BKMEA Vice President Mohammad Rashed assured Fair Wear of BKMEA’s full cooperation in this endeavor. He expressed hope that such joint initiatives would make a meaningful contribution to the continued advancement of Bangladesh’s RMG sector.
